I found this book from a recommendation of a book seller at one of my favorite book stores. This magical realism book revolves around three characters who have grown up learning about magic. Magic comes in the form of books written by scribes, specifically the blood of scribes. Which definitely makes this book have a heavy layer of darkness. Two estranged sisters learn to come to terms about magic in their own ways while a young man learns about the consequences of literal knife cutting duplicity of family.
