Ok I randomly stumbled upon this book at a thrift store and swooped it up because of the cover. I was on a road trip with friends and started reading in the back seat on our drive home. The two main characters relationship really sucked me into this story. The basic plot is that a young genius has discoverd a way to harness energy that has awoken dark gods that have been locked away for centuries that are hell bent on enslaving the entire human race. Her and her best friend, who is the narrator of the book, must stop them at all costs. The bantering and love between the two friends is funny, hard and wonderful. I’d pair this book with some espresso in a moody mountain tumbler.
