Wow what a book! I HIGHLY recommend this book! It’s a murder mystery but with teeth. The storyline is written from two best friend’s perspectives and how a tragedy that happened in the early teens impacts the rest of their lives. This book touches on poverty, loss, friendship, family, class, love, trauma and so much more. The writing is incredibly poignant. You won’t be painted an exact scene but left to build your own through a beautiful placement of words. The wrap up of character’s lives at the end of the book left me in tears. I devoured this book on a canoeing trip in the Wind River Range where I took my mono print trout tumblers for a test run so I’d recommend topping one of them off with a delicious light roast coffee and get comfy because you won’t want to put the book down once you start.
