This book was recommended to my many months ago and then I kept seeing it crop up on other top recommendation lists so I finally decided it was time to pick it up. This is a very well written book that was easy to read and had quite the twist at the end. Set in 1940-1960 this story follows the love life of Beth, a young woman who grew up in a rural farming town. The back and forth from present to past was well done and lines up some fabulous foreshadowing. I found one twist at the end quite predictable and the another was definitely a surprise. This fictional story I would pair with the Fossil Fern mug topped off with a gin and tonic.
