I love how McConaghy writes. It’s powerful in its simplicity and message. This storyline is set on an island near Antartica where a research lab is being abandoned due to rising sea levels. A family who lives on the island to take care of the facilities finds a woman washed up on the beach from a boat wreck. This is a story of tragedy and the traumas that each person struggles with. This is definitely a dark book but for every punch there’s a small glimpse of beauty afterwards. Pair this with a Moody Mountain Mug capped it off with a honey latte.
