What an interesting book. I didn’t love it but that doesn’t mean I didn’t like it. The book was written in the 80s and is about a family whose town is being evacuated due to air born contamination. But that’s hardly the plot. The book is really about how too much information can seriously alter a person. Which feels incredibly poignant that DeLillo is writing warns about this in the 80s, just think about how much more information each of takes in in a day in 2025! The book can feel disjointed so if you don;t enjoy that writing it’s not for you. If you’re up for an adventure and some very thought provoking allegories than definitely read White Noise. You could pair it with a vintage floral tumbler and an old fashion to really set the scene.
