What a wild ride this book was! If you are fan of Neil Gaiman’s American Gods than I would definitely recommend this book. It has a Gaimanesc writing style where the characters go off on random (yet wonderful) tangents and I loved it. The story line is also wildly creative and includes gods. The basic gist is that 3 teenagers have died and come back from the dead and everyone in town thinks that they were studying abroad except for one of the teens sisters is convinced something is off. There are gods and guardians and magic and a lot of love in all its form and a scene of two male foxes having sex in the sea. I did mention it was wild…. I’d pair this book with a moody mountain mug, because there is definitely some darkness to this book, topped off with a wonderful cup of coffee.
