Decided to listen to this book as another highly reviewed book on NPR and yet again was disappointed. Again the writing was very good but the storyline just bummed me out. The plot of the book is a California couple is getting married in Montana and the bride leaves the groom for his best friend. The book is definitely more than just this and the development of the characters throughout their lives is quite engaging. But I just couldn’t really get passed the feeling that this book was justifying a woman cheating on her partner. Perhaps pair the book with a simple wildflower mug full of a sweet treat like an affogato to brighten the base line premise.
