This book was recommended to me by a bookstore manager in Golden, British Coloumbia. I LOVE asking bookstore employees for recommendations when I’m not finding anything that strikes my interest browsing. The book is set in Canada and is a colonial take on the forestry industry in British Columbia. The story line follows a family lineage for 4 generations and the toll that logging takes on each generation and where that generation ends up. It is a lovely, well written story with interwoven story lines and just a little bit of intrigue to keep you guessing and wanting to know more. I would pair this with a Collab Mountain Tumbler and a crisp Canadian Pilsner to get you in the right mood.
