Continuing down a murder mystery binge I was handed The It Girl by my mom and SIL. I was all for continuing to read something engrossing as an injury has me laying low. I enjoyed how the book was written, each chapter goes back and forth BEFORE the murder and AFTER the murder. Written from the perspective of the murder victims best friend you read the story leading up to the death and how the main character is handling the case being brought back up years later. Although the storing is engaging I was aware of who committed the murder very early on so I found the book easily predictable. A simple synopsis: A freshman girl is murdered in her bedroom and found by her roommate years after putting the murder behind her the roommate is faced with new evidence that the man she put away for the murder may be innocent. I’d consider pairing this book with a funky mono print tumbler and a spicy margarita to spice the book up a bit!
