Warning: This is a dark book. I stumbled on this one through another local artist. It’s a very short book but it packs a PUNCH. I had to spend the rest of the day in silence after I finished this book. It’s the story of a woman driving out to a rural farm to meet her newish boyfriend’s parents. The book is written through her thoughts and she starts out with how she’d been considering ending the relationship. And that’s where I’ll leave it. This book falls into psychological horror so you have been warned. I’d pair this one with a bourbon on the rocks in a desert night tumbler.
