I had to pair The Whispers with a Wildflower Mono Print mug because the overarching theme of this book is that nothing is as it appears, just like the mono print process on clay. Top off the mug with a vanilla latte because nothing in the book is vanilla, it’s actually quite dark. This thriller follows the lives of four women living on the same block. Each woman has her own secrets that Audrain slowly reveals after a tragic event happens to the son of one of the women. This book has a lot of heaviness around what it means to be a mother. Read delicately.
